An ambitious and authentic curatorial project that exists in a precise moment. Following years of isolation soaked in equally opposing narratives of reality, and just down the street from acclaimed folk musician and singer Graham Nash, bubbles float freely on the wind.
Harkening people to seek out where they are coming from.
They are being blown at Space 900 Gallery in Evanston on this night. Yes, the storefront with the colorful windmill spilling its colors onto the pavement and upon the shoulders of strolling people.
Once inside, installations of paper and paint are presented on the floor and on the floor only, and only for 2 ½ hours on this night. One page is striped black and one is white lined. Shapes may also be in the mix in the form of gentle undulations.
Music is playing.
Construction grade paper creates paths of earthen red while protecting the storied gallery floorboards.
To experience a path.
This fresh moment may uniquely offer the means of access to alternate modes of self-fashioning.
The question and challenge intrigued me.
